Angles on the Clock


Angle Challenges
For each challenge, you must draw a clock with the hands pointed in the correct spot to prove your answer.


Challenge 1:  How many different times can you make with the hands making a right angle?

Challenge 2: Can you make three different times with the hands making an acute angle?

Challenge 3: Can you make three different times with the hands making an obtuse angle?

Migration - Push and Pull Factors

These two sites give information about migration, including the PUSH and PULL factors that cause people to migrate.  You need to:

1. Skim and scan both sites to see which is most suitable for you to read. In other words, which is easiest for you to understand and/or which will give you the best information.

2. Read the information on the site(s) and answer the following questions in your book:

           a. Explain 3 PUSH factors for migration.

           b. Explain 3 PULL factors for migration.

Stories of Migration


Read the stories of the different children who have migrated to the United States of America.  As you go, fill in the reflection sheet.

When you are done, make sure the reflection sheet is glued in your UOI book.

If you have time afterwards, look at the Immigration Data.  Try to come up with 5 facts from the graphs you see there.

Then go to this link and complete the activities in your math book.   Complete questions 1-3.  Make sure you don't put your mouse on the pink part or it will show the answers for you.

Check your answers after you are done.

*Question 5 is a lot more challenging.  Try it if you have time.
